Working with clay gathered near their village, the Native Americans of the American Southwest form vessels which are then painted with designs representing the world they inhabit. Equal parts bold and intricate, each patterned vessel expresses the maker’s creativity while honouring their heritage. As if in conversation with such vessels, The Jan Kath Native Legends collection translates this unique design language into knotted art. The Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe provided the original inspiration material for Native Legends.
