Dupont Desk – 9475

The development of the Dupont Desk took its inspiration from the “Y” shaped struts of the iconic Eames bench. Reinterpreted with a rectangular steel tube frame rather than solid steel rod the desk could be made lighter and more easily finished. A “picture frame” surround protects the edges of multiple top surfaces options and seamlessly ties the base and top elements together in a strikingly graphic stance. Since the conception of the desk, a bench was added with a similar bold profile and inset lacquered wood slat seat. The Dupont name assigned to the collection, to quote Fenwick Bonnell “is iconic, memorable, and just happens to be the name of a street close to the Powell & Bonnell studio! “.
