Habitat Side Table – 9132
Whilst knowing it would be difficult to build, David Powell set himself a challenge to design an asymmetrical, self- supporting, cantilever table. And it is difficult to build, requiring multiple drawings for the fabricator to enable production of this complex piece. David’s design of the Habitat Side table are reminiscent of Moshe Safdie’s Habitat ‘67 in Montreal, from which the table derives it’s name. The paintings of Mondrian also come to mind.
