Charles Zana

The mixture of textures and treatments (tainted mirror, smooth surfaces, matts, gloss, rough surfaces) is a tribute to Memphis Group aesthetics.

Charles Zana studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and now divides his time between house, shop, and scnographical projects, his Parisian workshop where he works with his team and the interior designer Richard Massol and his art and design collection.  Charles Zana took his inspiration from the 1963 “Ténèbres” or ‘obscurity’ ceramics collection by  Ettore Sotass, when designing this monumental mirror. The mixture of textures and treatments (tainted mirror, smooth surfaces, matts, gloss, rough surfaces) is a tribute to Memphis Group aesthetics.
